House rules

1. General

These rules set out the terms on which rooms are rented at Willa Storczyk, Droga na Bystre 1, 34-500 Zakopane, Poland, run by a private individual. Making a booking means you accept these rules.

2. Booking

• You can book on WhatsApp at +48 607 312 972, by e-mail at storczykzakopane@gmail.com, or through the enquiry form on this site. We handle enquiries in writing, because our spoken English is basic.
• When you enquire, please give us the number of guests, the arrival and departure dates and a contact number.
• A booking is confirmed in one of two ways:
  • After a deposit is paid. The amount is agreed individually. The deposit is non-refundable if you cancel.
  • Without a deposit, once the owner confirms the booking.
• If you need to cancel, please tell us on WhatsApp or by e-mail as early as you can.

3. Check-in and check-out

• Rooms are available from 15:00 on the day of arrival.
• Check-out is by 10:00 on the day of departure.
• Arriving earlier or leaving later is possible if agreed with the owner in advance.
• If the hosts are free at your arrival time, we will collect you from the bus or train station in Zakopane and take you back at the end of your stay, at no charge. Please ask in advance so that we can confirm.

4. Rates and payment

• Rates start at 100 PLN per person per night (approximately 23 EUR) and depend on the season and the number of guests.
• The rate includes the local tourist tax, free Wi-Fi and parking on the property.
• Payment is by cash or bank transfer. We do not accept card payments at the house.
• All prices are set in Polish zloty (PLN). Any euro amounts shown on this site are approximate and given only for orientation.

5. During your stay

• Smoking inside the building is strictly forbidden. The house is built of wood and this is a serious fire risk. Smoking is allowed only in the designated area outside.
• Quiet hours are from 22:00 to 07:00.
• Guests are financially responsible for any damage to the property or its furnishings.
• The owner may refuse to continue hosting guests who seriously breach these rules.
• Pets are welcome with the owner's prior agreement.
• We host groups travelling for hiking and active holidays. We do not host party groups.

6. Parking

There is free parking on the property. The owner is not liable for damage to or theft of vehicles.

7. Complaints

Please raise any problem with the owner immediately, while you are still with us, so that we can put it right. Complaints made after the stay has ended may not be considered.

Privacy policy

1. Who controls your data

The controller of your personal data under the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) is Wynajem Pokoi Storczyk, tax ID (NIP): 7361003957, Droga na Bystre 1, 34-500 Zakopane, Poland, phone +48 607 312 972, e-mail storczykzakopane@gmail.com. You can contact the controller about anything relating to your data using those details.

2. What we collect, why, and on what basis

When you write through the form or by e-mail, we receive your name, phone number and e-mail address. We use them only to confirm and handle your booking. Nothing else.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and performance of the accommodation contract itself. Giving us your data is voluntary, but without it we cannot process your booking.

3. Do we pass your data on

No. Your data is never sold or shared. It reaches only us, and is used only to contact you about your stay.

4. How long we keep it

Only as long as we need it to handle the booking. Once your stay is over and settled, your data is deleted.

5. Cookies and external content

This site stores only one thing in your browser: your cookie choice (in localStorage). Fonts are hosted on our own server, so nothing is requested from Google Fonts. External content, namely the Google map and the TikTok videos, loads only after you accept on the banner. Those providers may then set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. If you choose "Essential only", that content stays blocked. You can change your choice by clearing this site's data in your browser, or by clicking the button on the blocked content. We do not use Google Analytics or any tracking tools.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Just write to storczykzakopane@gmail.com or message us on WhatsApp at +48 607 312 972. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, Poland, uodo.gov.pl).
